Ozone Reduction

In ozone based disinfection for water, excessive residual ozone is often encountered. Residual ozone must be decomposed to avoid byproducts or other effect to the water quality. Ozone exhibits strong absorption capability for ultraviolet radiation within the 200nm-310nm wavelength range. However, the UV dose required for this process  is three to four times as the disinfection (microbial inactivation) applications. UIEX  FULL-UVC series products provide a full ultraviolet spectrum from 200nm to 400nm with ultra-high power density, effectively for the dissociation of residual ozone

UV light reduces ozone in water very quickly. The mechanism for reduction is dissociation, which occurs when UV energy breaks one of the oxygen bonds in an ozone molecule.
